If I had a dime for every time someone asked me, “When do I get paid?” in regards to Digital Marketing, I’d have enough dimes to fund my own island getaway. It seems that as soon as people hear about Digital Marketing, they’re immediately drawn to the idea of making money.
The idea and the images they have seen makes them think that the money is fast and infinite, but that is not true, so please if you take anything away from this document don’t go into this thinking you will take your last $300 sign up for some program, and make that back 10x in (1 or 3 days) that does not happen in the real world, but (guru’s) they will show you things just like this scenario.
I know it’s easy to look online and see people showing their backend payment systems displaying the massive amounts of money they have made and the money they say they are currently making. This can give a false sense of success to those who want to join this industry. You have to look past the shiny things and understand that this business is about skillset, how much time you put into it, how much you educate yourself. These are things that differentiate you from the crowd.
I would also say that most people out there only promote Digital Marketing as a get rich quick concept. They tell you things like if you get started today, you could be leaving that boring job in 2 weeks, or 2 months. No one really knows the answer to how long it’s gonna take you to be successful. We all work at different levels, so one person could put in 25% and hope to make 100% of the money. Then others can put in 100%, but that could be in things that are not moving the needle and they only receive 20% of the money they require.
No two people will earn the same amount of money, busy work in Digital Marketing does not translate into dollar bills in your pocket and that’s what people don’t tell you. Here’s the thing, Digital Marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s not a magic wand that you can wave and poof! – money appears. It requires commitment, self education, and a desire to level up everyday.
